about

Lyrics I wrote for a friends fantastic drone album (Airspace Falling - Written In The Waters) and music that the two of us did together ended up working very well together.

lyrics

Take the path to the lighter side,
The road you took, the night she died.
The steps you trod as she trod her last.
All she is and can ever be stuck firmly in the past.

The valley ledge obscured the clouds
Her face was gone behind the shroud
The sky wept on the virgin ground.

The pouring of the icy flow
Rivers come and rivers go.
The fjord draining within me and below.

The landmark charred where forgotten laid,
The bloody stains on the grassy blades.
She's stolen light off the valley walls
Echoes of the voices she called.

You took her hand and she took your breath
In your mind, she never left
The veil shows you that all you are and can ever be
Always drains out to the sea.

"Roll on deep and dark blue ocean roll
10,000 fleets sweep over thee in vain.
Man marks the earth with ruin,
But his control stops with the shore".

Watch as your fjord drains to the sea.

about

Barabajagal Dunedin, New Zealand

Barabajagal are a band who make music.

It's pretty ok stuff really.

It's rooted in psychedelia but incorporates so many genres that it doesn't really seem too definable. But it's ok with that.

Despite being a kiwi band the songwriter is actually rather English, so whenever he sings you'd be hard pressed to go "wow, those kiwis huh". Still, New Zealand-ish.

Pronounced Bah-Rabba-Jaggle.
