about

I wrote these lyrics directly about a friend of mine, as with many others, and was very honest with the simple joy they bring. When I presented it to a group of poets they commended me on write such a brilliant send up of sappy poems. Screw them, people feel sappy sometimes, it's a real emotion.

Instead I wrote them some garbage using no words, numbers or letters and they lapped it up. I don't get poets.

lyrics

I think you'd look nice in a field
Maybe sitting down.
You'd probably wear the hat you do
And possibly the scarf you like too.
You're definitely sitting down.

And this wildflower comes out today.

You would look nice in a field
Full of dandelions.
You'd tilt your head at the sky
And a flower would catch my eye.
Maybe a bluebell or a daisy.

And this wildflower comes out today.

I think a dandelion would suit you best.
Vibrant yellow flares.
Every single one of them stands out proud
They are themselves in every crowd.
I think you're a wildflower.

And this wildflower comes out today.

about

Barabajagal Dunedin, New Zealand

Barabajagal are a band who make music.

It's pretty ok stuff really.

It's rooted in psychedelia but incorporates so many genres that it doesn't really seem too definable. But it's ok with that.

Despite being a kiwi band the songwriter is actually rather English, so whenever he sings you'd be hard pressed to go "wow, those kiwis huh". Still, New Zealand-ish.

Pronounced Bah-Rabba-Jaggle.
